last tuesday

last tuesday, my friends from ua&p visited our house. and they said that it was my post-birthday celebration. ehehe. it was a fun night. it was a night full of firsts. 1. my first time to invite my friends to our house. 2. their first time to reach the farther side of marikina. 3. my first time to play poker at home using real chips. 4. etc. etc. etc. i really don't know why ros and lor kept on laughing when they were on the hammock. if it's the hemp of the hammock, hmm. i should be positive with drug use. ahaha. labo? ewan. i did enjoy the time they were at home. i just wish bl and quito could have stayed longer and gio, nel, dennis, and bam were also there.

hello friday

hello, friday. now, i got i wanted. am i even happy with it? that, i dunno... before i left our house, which was quite early for my 9am class, i was able to prepare my things. laptop, for cramming the SEA paper - check! clothes, for playing basketball - check! toiletries, for my post-game shower - check! jacket, just in case that it would rain today/tonight - check! so there, how was my day, my friday? as i reached school, i found no one. so i went to our spot, the mpc. and still, my friends weren't there but a girl was practicing shooting hoops, for p.e. i think. i just said to myself, hmm... a sign - i'm gonna play later! for the record, this was the first time that i would be playing since the iep sportsfest. fortunately, gio saw me sitting alone and became my company which was followed by rjude and our video for political thought. nel and bl followed, telling me that they went to mcdo for breakfast with ros. few minutes after, we went to class. while listening to mr. paras, i tried doing my contribution for SEA but i still wasn't able to finish it. i know, i have been really lazy finishing it but for some weird reason, i couldn't produce a thing. i have read my part several times but i still can't write. what is happening to me, dear?! it's good that i brought our laptop and i got to advance, a little bit though. after pol.thought, i stayed for a while at mpc, again. but now with my friends, who call our group "happy true friend" - no offence, but how gay can you get. ahaha. anyway, miggy and i were discussing some business coz' he too has plans on having one. maybe he could join our(victor and i) plan to set up after school. when pongki (a name i'm not really used to calling sandra) came, she just invited us to eat for lunch and to have some siomai from red ninja. but as we were on our way out, we met dennis who was insisting on having jollibee. though we decided to split up (miggy and pongki going to have siomai and dennis and i to jollibee), it seemed that pongki, who really wanted to have some siomai went with us. also, it was my first time in months to grab some food at jabee. we already noticed, before leaving mpc for lunch, that the mike's (p and r) of seb were setting up. and it was for the wncaa video jock hunt. too bad i wasn't able to watch it fully coz i had calculus during lunch time. calculus? blah blah blah... then, consultation for macro paper. blah blah blah... then math.eco. hmm... before dr. u arrived, i was playing mortal kombat 4, application courtesy of rjude, which i still played for a while. but after realizing that it was a major subject, i closed the laptop lid and got my notes instead. luisa sat beside me today (am i writing like the tj hotdog kid circa mid-90) and she became my partner in understanding the partial differentiation. i know it would bore you to know what partial differentiation is. we had a quiz on that topic, i just i hope i got it right. after class, i got my clothes inside our locker then went straight to mpc. there i spotted some people playing basketball. and i saw bl playing - that bastard, missed two quizzes already because of going out for campaigning (con-con elections) then heading to mpc to play. but i don't regret attending dr. u's class coz' i learned and the lesson's really difficult to understand. when i saw the women's futsal team prepping up for their practice, i got frustrated coz' seeing them at mpc means that you don't have a chance to play coz they (or anyone who is playing and a hardcore futsal fan) rules mpc. but bg said that their practice would be for a short time only and i saw some hope when i saw coach cabotage readying for bball. so i decided to change my clothes. then i played basketball. basketball. so-so game. it's my first time in months, sorry!!! when i checked my toiletries, i forgot that i had no deodorant. like my ritual when i forgot something, i passed by the gate at the back then go to ministop to grab something. and i'm wearing my sweaty jersey. eww, i know. but which is disgusting walking for a longer walk without deo or short walk with sweaty jersey (which maybe more understandable)? but i hink the former. pongki, jan tuason, lestra, ros, bl and nel went to mcdo after bl had a shower. they had dinner. i was late coz i don't wanna rush changing clothes coz it would only make me sweat more. but as i got to mcdonald's bl had to take nel home and pongki's going with them. so, lestra, ros, jan and i had a little bonding time. when jan left, ros's ride was here too. so, les and ros left me here in mcdonald's alone. actually, it's because i have to wait for the rain to stop. rain's really falling hard. i'm really glad that i brought this laptop. thus, this very very long post. (another first in months). ehehe

school of economics week

the school of economics finally ended. it's not that i want to end right away. actually, i would like to extend it for two more weeks - and that's how much fun i had from the week. it started with the get-together with dr. bernardo villegas, who just arrived from his break at spain, last tuesday august 12. he told us the vision of the IEP program 39 years ago, which was to be the leading think-tank here not only in the country but also in the world. he also shared to us how his life was when he was spain - comparing it to boston, where he had his graduate studies, decades ago. it was quite enriching. actually, i dubbed that tuesday, 12th of august as my talk day. i had a talk regarding the state of the nation address organized by polis, political economy's org. it featured speeches from dr. anthony golez of the government, adel tamano - the spokesperson of united opposition, alex brillantes - representing the academe and dean of a college in UP, and gov. salceda of albay. the next activity for the school of economics week was the SEC night. it showcased the talents (and the sabaw-ness) of the iep students and faculty. our batch, the juniors, presented a dance choreographed by bl and ralph tomenes and a cheer prepared by rjude. the seniors had a mini-skit with dances in between, which actually followed the theme of the event: superheroes. the super-seniors, i mean 5th year, presented a wacky puppet of paul and john plus a dance portion. certainly, the faculty also presented with recognizing the economic superheroes of the school of eco. awards, such as jumper mobility blah blah award, for each batch were given between the presentations and before the announcement of winner. the fourth year won the presentation. a sabaw dinner followed with people having pictures taken with the personalities of iep such as dr. villegas, dr. U, supermanzano, dr. abola. that night did not just end with the dinner. the juniors were "initiated" by the super-seniors, john, nikko, and paul castillo. composed of drew, ralph, bl, rjude (the new recruits) and me (initiated already during the ewer awards) beat the super-seniors in a counter-strike match for "one hours." lastly, they also introduced us to the BI(buhat-inom) lifestyle by sharing a round of red horse and extra joss. although a holiday, most of the iep, abep, and faculty of SEC went to ua&p for the School of Economics Sportsfest. starting with a torch relay of the students and faculty, all of us ran for a fun-run around the campus, played futsal, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, dodgeball. it was really tiring but all the work was paid with free lunch from mcdonald's and pizza from yellow cab. it was fun taunting at the upper batchmen and even to the faculty. we ranked 2nd behind the fourth year. i just wished i got to know my crush. i had the opportunity but i let it go coz she gave me her excess slice of pizza (if i could just frame the slice). thanks to UA&P-BEA for the wonderful week.

during the vigil

============= ma, mami, jen. you three were all right. it can get really cold oout in here. it's good that mami gave me a pair of leggings. my legs can still feel the cold wind. jen, i got a pair of soccer socks (the long ones) over leggings i'm wearing right now. ma, i brought enough clothers - say 6 clothes to make a very thick layer but they're not really of help. i'm just wondering how could the caucasians here can stand the almost five degrees celsius of cold wind. and it's not even snowing here (how much more if there's snow?) ============ there's a lot of people out here. different countries. different language. different accents. right now, i'm located around some "slovenijans" (i still have to check it out) and some people from hong kong. earlier, we've met some filipinos from different countries. some from united states, canada, papua new guinea, new zealand. but mostly are from australia. it's quite amazing that i see philippine flag worm by someone who is with the aussie group. i'm just wondering if they still consider themselves filipinos. i'm still in doubt of their nationality (or sense of it) though they respond to our cheers (such as mabuhay!) or they call us out upon seeing the Philippine flag. it must be because i was just disturbed when i met a kid from wollemi whose parents are both filipinos but considers himself a half-pinoy. weird? i know. by the way, filipinos here are called here filos. love? maybe. =========== ros, how are you? what are you doing right now, bud? i hope you're doing well right now. i just wish i was there on your birthday. how was the surprise - sorry if that was all i can think of and wasn't able to plan a more bonggang surprise, just like last year. i wish too that i got to see you when you knew that the video wasn't actually a venatores video. ============ right now, i'm now enjoying sydney. they have a good weather here. cold but not snowy. cold that you can wear several layers of clothes - sartorialism, baby. however, it can get really hot here reaching 35 degrees. hotter than the philippines. hmm... climate's a notch higher than philippines.

second day mate!

and this day partially ends my day as a traveler here in sydney. and what a good day to cap it off! i had a great experience when we went to the blue mountain. i'm sure ms. gruet mentioned it during our australian studies. it was a never ending walk. after getting off the train which we first missed on our way to the mountains, we started walking from the station to the park where we had our lunch. (we had marmalade, butter and bread for breakfast and we had the same during lunch.) and to get to the observation decks fronting the blue mountains, we had to walk for almost 30minutes. from the observation decks to the three sisters, stone formations named after a myth or vice-versa. whatever! and oh, blue mountain's at katamboo but i'm not sure if it's still in sydney. on our way home, we had the last ride of the train. and it really highlights my day. why? we had companions in the train. drunken kids. i mean they're really crazy. they drink inside the train, though it's prohibited. they also made fun of our mates from wollemi college, asking different silly questions. i really hated it. good thing that mike, dae and i did not try to meddle with the situation. even peter, who was a former cop but presently a teacher, didn't intefere with what happened. they made silly remarks. below are some of the lines: "so, you are going to penrith. are you also going to the jesus thing? the youth day thing?" "have you kissed a girl?" ben, a student and wollemi boy, said no. the girl insisted "do you want me to kiss you?" "no! my girlfriend's gonna get jealous." and the wollemi group just laughed. a wollemi kid made a joke "we have a cop here!" and the whole drunken group went to them and almost went wild. here's the scenario. some girls, part of the drunken group, are smoking when the train stops. they are drinking inside the train. they're making fun of us. a guy wearing cap even shouted inside that he is christ. that same guy, i saw him kissing another guy. is he gay? i don't know you could barely tell, coz' gay guys are really hidden here, especially that sydney's a gay capital. i also saw a guy sitting on, again, another guy's lap. the latter's even kissing the former on the neck. yuck! yuck! yuck! i was really helpless during that time. i couldn't help my friends get away from the situation because honestly, i don't want to be discriminated on my second stay here. i don't wanna have a bad impression on austalians now that i met a few mates who are really welcoming us. if dae and mike only knew, i was shivering, at first because of cold, but minutes after, i was restless because i was really afraid they would pick on us. i mean, discriminate us. arggh... anyway, i'm so full right now. just had snags (hotdogs) and the barbi (que, pronounced as ba-bee) courtesy of the wollemi kids' parents. snags are so delicious that i had four on bun. australians make snags which are really tasty. that's all mate. -arjay diño (shivering)

first day in aussie

good day, mate. i'm here at wollemi college, somewhere in werrington, sydney australia. it's good that they have a computer so that i could blog what has been happening to me. just wanna say right away, Thank You to the parents and school facilitator of the school. hmm... here are some of the things i've noticed on my short trip around sydney. language. i learned from my australian studies class that a tourism advertisement of australia was banned in UK for including "bloody hell", a profane phrase. thus, it seems to them that australians are "vulgar" in using the term. however, i call it weird. or was it because i grew up on a country with american influence. i'm so used to seeing "please watch your step" signs on steps, but here it's different: "mind your step." also, another signage used the term "rubbish" in the line please "throw your rubbish in the trash can." weather it's really cold in here that i have to wear five clothes: undershirt, collared shirt, long-sleeves top, and two jackets. and i'm serious. ok fine, it's because climate in manila is really harsh, i mean hot. due to the weather, i don't mind walking for miles. i never got tired and exhausted from walking. it's cool here, i mean, i get to walk wearing a jacket and my very huge backpack. i've been to baguio and i know that relatively it's cool there but i haven't experienced having heater on my room, our (class)room. it's weird staying on a warm room and then going out on a very chilly and windy open space. transportation based on my first day here, it is either you walk or you take a train in going to different places. i have seen some buses they were close to getting empty. was it because today's a sunday, a rest day for them? i don't know. let's wait til tomorrow or world youth day festivities start. mr. paras, you are right. a secret to having a successful country is a good means of public transportation. and they have it here with their trains. as far as i can remember, i saw four or five lines, and almost all are connected. the train's fast too that having a trip of an hour and a half would mean like marikina to laguna, say 50 km. money i'm so used to not valuing coins because in the philippines, coins don't have that large value. here, the smaller your gold coins, the higher the value and it is very different when compared to manila. with your really small coins, say 3 gold coins, you can go as far as 50 km or you can have a big mac which reminds of my next topic. firsts it's my first time here in australia. first time to go out of the country. first time to see an extinct tree, the wollemi tree which my school where i'm staying is named after. first time to see bats hanging on the trees. first time to see the sydney opera house. first time to experience 5-12 degrees celcius but what could top off my firsts is to eat BIG MAC at mcdonalds. i'll just assume you know why it's that special. ehehe til the next time, arjay diño.

the Papa

i'm really excited to leave the country for the first time. ahaha australia baby! not as a tourist though, but as a pilgrim. a pilgrim. pilgrim, not tourist. a traveler, perhaps. traveler who is seeking for the right way. ehehe but i would really like to thank my family who supported me in this trip and all the sponsors whose names shall be kept in confidentiality. anyway, keeping up with the theme of excitement, i just wanna say that i'm excited to have the chance of meeting the Pope, Pope Benedict XVI. i hope that i could get a good shot of him - hmm... something to aim for. i'm really excited to go on a pilgrim. i have always limited the concept of pilgrimage to the muslims that i never thought that Christians do pilgrimage also. ehehe. a week and a half of prayers, wow, i never thought that this will be a really cool period. i mean, we get to be enlightened... there, thank you to all. pray that i may get a safe trip and a chance to meet the Pope.

small world

krizy francisco, my former blockmate, moved to california. after around four months since she moved there, ryan aguirre, my grade school classmate, commented on my facebook wall that he and krizy are classmates. who would've expected that? ahaha every time jen, my high school best friend, and i meet, she always get to share her upjma events, meetings and her friends. she usually mentions nissy, a close friend of jen. i once asked her where nissy studied during high school. jen said, st.paul pasig. i then told her, maybe she knows martha. yesterday, jen and i met. apparently, nissy and martha were barkada back in high school. i was surprised to see a contact of casey commenting on ros's multiply page. i asked casey who that guy was. he happens to be casey's classmate, and one of the smartest stat peeps. i then went to ros and asked also how that guy's related to her. she said that it was her ex's barkada. from what i remember, i also that guy when we were at eastwood last year. hay... jen, your sister's really right with the six degrees of separation. ehehe

coz i had a bad day

walking is a like a living hell for me. i'm having a hard time walking because i sprained my leg yesterday. i just hope that my mother will buy me the medication prescribed by the doctor. so, in a few hours, i would be wearing an ankle brace and would be walking with crutches. hay. what happened yesterday is one of my worst days in the university. first of all, i didn't get to play that much during our pe class. it's because we had the shuttle run which consumed almost half of the class's time. then, our class played against the women's futsal team. also, the all of our classmates should be able to play and that means that my playing time would be cut to half. so i know call the non-p.e. players "the leeches." these leeches are one of the most inconsiderate peoples living here on earth. they get to play for free while our class would be paying the court and the equipments. even though they have alloted time for their practice, they still insist to play - courtesy of our very nice coach (do you smell sarcasm here?) so i'm really wondering why do they have to insist on playing during our time? out of not burning enough calories, i decided to play basketball right after futsal. hoping that i could sweat more from playing basketball, i instead had my ankle sprained after stepping on kris's foot. i think i heard three cracks, which made me feel that i had a really bad injury. i had sprained my ankle before and they say i should stomp it, but in this case i really can't. i could barely walk going to our house. so there, despite enjoying the i came, i sang, i-mic, i had to endure all the pain. don't worry, i'm going to post some of the pictures i have taken yesterday.

i just really thought we were a team. man, they don't have to carry all of the burden. so questioned now here is our purpose. are we just there to fill up the line-up? for display? or so that they could present a so-called "team"? this is worse than the supposedly worst game. i'm feeling really bad right now. frustrated - that i could have help, but i was given a little chance. just a little chance. however, this case's not limited to me only. i could see from the faces and reactions of our "team"mates that they also feel the same sentiment. i even heard someone utter unconsciously something i don't want to disclose. i'm not really here to make a big fuss about what happened today. i just wanna point out that they don't have to push their selves to the limits just to win the game. it seems that they forgot the same words they uttered that they're going to let everyone in. hay... feeling frustrated, feeling bad. i hope the next games will turn out to be good. or even better. i'm sorry.

with so little time left, i really feel that i have to cram all the papers due on jan.3. i have a phil.hist paper that i should have passed when the break just started. however, due to starting the break right with a treat a EK courtesy of nel, i felt too lazy to finish what i have started. then, i also have to make a paper on the effect of darwin's theory on 19th century christianity. damn, i really hate writing essays for every meeting because i think that skill should be developed on another class, which is on english. it's an excess load to the students and a waste of time when they should be allotting more time on more important affairs. we also have to come up with an outline for the paper in japan. i also haven't read the book i borrowed. tsk tsk that only reminds me of inferno. arggh!!! can the school extend the break? please...

coup and euch

after celebrating the eucharistic procession on our school, my classmate texted my classmate saying that she'd be cutting her class because she can't go out of her place, which was in makati, where the coup attempt happened. eucharistic celebration + coup = nice timing of events. galing lang eh. after feeling holy and closer to God, you'd be then feeling fear because of coup. since edi congress we're really attached to each other, we still had managed to leave our fears away and meet at the venue. unfortunately, the one who organized the whole tambay didn't arrive. and again because of the coup attempt. anyway, i was part of the team who fixed the flowers at cas. i also watered and covered the flowers at mpc. ehehe... so proud. because if my memory serves me right, i didn't help or even attend the eucharistic procession. hehe. i made up for my being apathetic last year.

keep love real beybeh...

to summarize this post, all i really want to say is that i enjoyed volunteering/ushering for the EDI congress entitled: love, laughter and life ever after: second international congress on education in love, sex and life. it was held at EDSA Shangri-la, from November 19-22. it also culminated with the Real Love Revolution held at le pavilion. martha, ros and lor told me to volunteer for the said congress but i have taken for granted their invitation. the last thing i knew, they had their shirts fitted. i lost hope and thought that this congress wasn't for me. several meetings had gone by and did not even attend any of those, which just made me realize i could no longer volunteer. mid-sembreak came and good news, for me, arrived. several volunteers backed out although they have invested little time on attending the usher's meetings for the congress. after knowing the good news, i texted right away rissa barretto, asking if i could still make it. and she said, yes and there would be another meeting. a day before the second semester started, i attended the meeting at EDSA shangri-la. there i got to meet a lot of people: the other ushers;my partner, miya espiritu, a 5th year humanities student; the heads, namely, rissa, mich, ivanna, shelina, carla, and monica. it was carla who toured us around the place where the congress would be held. while leaving shangri-la, i said to myself, if they would be the heads/organizers of the event, man, i would be always available for their commands. i envisioned myself like a puppy commanded by some gorgeous masters. ehehe [fast-forward to the congress.] day zero. for us, it's day one, but for the delegates and guest, day zero. we were asked to be at shangri-la by 7:30 but work only started by 9:30 when some of the boys arrived carrying the kits, books and tarpaulins from omm citra. whew, what a great way to start the day, and congress, doing some logistic stuffs. a hint perhaps of what lies ahead. by 1pm, people started to swarm and bug the ushers. i was assigned to the information counter, with my partner miya. we were tasked to accommodate the guests and media men, which was less of a hassle than that of the registration booth who handle the hundreds of delegates. since sam and lj, who should also be with us, were out doing other stuffs, miya and i have to divide the labor - she has to accommodate the guest while i would be running for kits and the asking the heads for the guests' inquiries. bl and i found out during that day that people living far from shangri-la and would be having a hard time going to shangri-la are given free accommodation. so bl asked the ever-gorgeous monica villanueva, if we could also stay at the legend villas. fortunately, we were allowed to. ahaha. so, i packed my things as soon as i have reached home. day one. while waiting for the actual congress to start, miya and i still stayed at the information counter because we really enjoyed our work. and we were not giving our work away to the other people - and that's how we are attached to our work. we were also assigned to conference two which means that we should make sure that the panelist and speakers would be at the isla ballroom ten minutes before the conference starts. what an easy job, right? during this day, i got the chance to eat the all-in-one sandwich. it's called the choco-apple-tuna-salad sandwich. thanks to tita anabelle for the sandwich. what's in the sandwich? it has a slice of the regular bread, tuna on mayo, salad on mayo, slices of apple and a slice of choco-bread from gardenia. how weird, right? ehehe if we were not working, we would be hanging out at the secretariat office where we would try to take away stress by cracking some really brain-souping jokes(nakakasabaw na jokes). during this day, i got to usher the wife of sen. nene pimentel. she was quite humble and not the type of guest having a i'm-a-guest-so-treat-me-well attitude. the legend villas boys, composed of sam, lj, john, nico, orenz, bl and i, went to cabalen megamall for dinner. after they have watched marimar, which i'm not a big fan of, we went to robinsons' pioneer to have some coffee. that's how the first day ended. day two. i woke up very early so that i would not be late for breakfast. i really had a good start because we had breakfast buffet courtesy of the hotel. so for two straight meals, i had buffet - day one dinner from cabalen, and day two breakfast from the legend villas. this day was the same as day one but there was more time to chill. for some weird reason, people were starting to get sick. jv and sandra weren't feeling well. also felix brought his laptop to kill some time while waiting for the commands from our master. we played what-word from gamehouse. i could say that this bonded the ushers 'coz everytime they go to the secretariat's room, they would surely see someone playing felix's game. i was energized as the day was about to end with a performance from brigada, an all percussions band. it seemed that they brought mardi gras into the isla ballroom of shangri-la. i was also touched when dr.torralba recognized the ushers by having us stand in front of the guests and delegates. i almost cried with a relief when a foreigner, a speaker perhaps, stood first and clapped which made the other guests stand up too. the day ended with a riot of delegates wanting for their certificate of appearance. the heads prepared only certificates of participation not knowing that the delegates wanted, and were dying for certificate of appearance. i just don't understand why they were looking for appearance when they have the participation. can they not participate at an event without appearing? haha... labo nila. last day. so the congress ended with the real love revolution. it had a song-writing contest and performances who promoted chastity. there also had a panel with speakers such as julianne, audrey zubiri, lora tan-garcia (author of keep love real), ronnie balbieran of iep etc. the crowd really went wild when miguel escueta and christian bautista performed. i'm still wondering why miguel escueta went off the stage during his set just to run around the le pavilion. weird. during christian bautista's performance, almost all of the ushers stopped their work just to watch him perform. well as for me, i worked not only as a documentarist but also as a bouncer. on our way home, i had the chance to tour around metro manila because ushers should be dropped at their houses by the coaster. with a wrong route, the driver had a five-hour trip around the metro. he had to go to san joaquin and rosario pasig, camp aguinaldo, santoland mother ignacia, fairview, caloocan, malate, marikina and antipolo. whew. but during this time, i got to have a bonding moment with carla, tech head. we were like drinking, having shots of jelly-ace while sharing stories. i had to write this post for almost three hours, missing other stories but all i want to say is that i really enjoyed the congress. tuyo na utak ko...

vacation versus start of classes

while walking to megamall to buy some supplies, i already felt the tingling effect of enrolling. that only means i'm really excited to go to school especially now that i bought some supplies. i'm really excited to mean some freshmen on my classes. ehehe however, when i got home and i saw two of my brothers come home from school, already tired, i was suddenly discouraged from going to school. it was intensified after seeing my bad schedule. i have a lab class on wednesday 9am and prs japan on saturday, from 7:30am to 10:30am. hahay... labo talaga...

last night

i enjoyed last night's trip to eastwood. we got to do our favorite pastime - sing. we stayed for almost an hour and a half at powerstation singing the saddest OPMs. but not to forget that we got 100 for singing shape of my heart by the backstreet boys. then, we chilled at the bedroom. by staying there, i realized that i'm not really meant to go to such places. well, it's because i didn't have the money to burn. we also got the chance to talk to dj mojo jojo of magic 89.9. we had confirmed that he was truly from ua&p. he took up imc, the course ros would be applying for and hopefully would get into. it was fun talking to him because he was so accommodating. (hope he would greet us at his morning radio show. ehehe) our last stop was at cafe adriatico. i also had fun cursing at a taxi driver who wouldn't take me to marikina riverbanks. he said it was traffic going to marikina. HELLO!!! it was 11pm and riverbank's just a 10 minute drive from eastwood.

sembreak!!!

yahoo!!! after i have finished and passed my paper for english, i'm done with my 1st sem of 07-08. it only reminded me that the last sem was a sem dedicated to finishing the research paper in english. if only the students who didn't take up our english prof would realize the pressure of taking up english with her, they'd probably understand why i feel so liberated after passing the requirements. right now, my sister's watching the series Popular. it's a series shown on studio 23 when i was in grade 5 and it's so old school. i just hate the post 90's-early 2000's fashion. ehehe. i'm going to have a heroes marathon maybe next week and i just have to let my sister do her popular marathon. yahoo.... sembreak!!!

today's the last sunday of september. this day also marks the start of a two week-long hell week. i have to submit three papers and all of them are major papers. a long test this week. around 5 final exams next week. it's good that the cas-seb renamed the hell week to hatch week. using the term hell week during august to introduce the freshies to juniors desecrates the true meaning of hell week. hell week means tons of papers, long tests and finals and not just dressing up weirdly. anyway, i have to start with my english paper... adios!

a round-up

i went to st.scholastica college manila to watch wncaa. it was the women's basketball team's last game. too bad, they lost again. they had a standing of a win to five loses. after watching all their games, they all ended up losing the game. does that mean i'm a bad luck to the team? hope not. today's game was the closest. they should have won, only if they had maintained the two point lead, courtesy of camille's trey, in the final minute. it was actually the penalty which killed the team - it gave the opposing team chance to tie up and regain the lead. losing by three points isn't as bad as losing to a double-digit margin with a really irritating hot-headed coach. from the last two games, i can say that the team was more comfortable and relaxed than before. it's because much of the pressure was taken off. i guess, they know what i mean. i'd be uploading some pictures in the near future. my apologies to krizy because i wasn't able to produce some good shots of st.scho. i was too shy that i shoot pictures from the waist.

last thursday and friday

for two consecutive nights, i was with jen... last thursday, i went to up alumni hostel to support jen. she was a contestant for up statistics' skewed pair. and how statistics-related the name of a "pageant-like" program could be. from what i have understood, the pairs should be acting like entertainment icons. also, the girl should be acting like a guy and vice-versa. jen and his pair, bryce, had to be music icons. they then decided to become michael jackson and madonna, respectively. congratulations to my friend and her friend 'coz they got two awards which i forgot. they did pretty well in dancing, though they weren't as prepared as the other pairs. it might not please jen but i'm going to post on my multiply a portion of their dance which really looked like they're having a dirty dancing. recognition should be given also to the other contestant. they did pretty well, especially the juniors who acted marimar and sergio of marimar. then, yesterday, she accompanied me to watch drip and up dharma down's ua&p gig called indie trip. it was at li seng giap. entrepreneurial management's band, sindikato, fronted for the two terno recording artists. it was actually my first time to see drip play. supposedly, i was going to watch them play the soundtrack for the silent film festival. i wasn't able to catch them when i went to fete d la musique. i've been wanting to see them since i saw them play at mtv local, about almost three years ago. i never knew that beng calma graduated from ua&p and her brother is my batchmate, paeng. after the gig, which was around 11pm, we went to tapa king, blue wave. it was only then that i ate after almost 12 hours. i just pity her 'coz she had a hard time eating her tapa for her braces was adjusted hours before going to ua&p. jen, kwits na tayo ah... nagpunta ako sa inyo, nagpunta ka sa amin... ehehe
